Techland has released a new Dying Light video today showing off more gameplay. If you’re unfamiliar with the game, Dying Light is,

“…a first-person, action survival horror game set in a vast and dangerous open world. During the day, players traverse an expansive urban environment overrun by a vicious outbreak, scavenging the world for supplies and crafting weapons to defend against the growing infected population. At night, the hunter becomes the hunted, as the infected become aggressive and more dangerous.”

Does that sound terrifying? It gets even better,

“Most frightening are the predators which only appear after sundown. Players must use everything in their power to survive until the morning’s first light.”

In lieu of spoiling the new gameplay video below, rest assured that it looks incredible. It looks like Techland is taking the best elements of Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, and Mirror’s Edge and combining them into one spectacular experience. The movement, fluidity, and sense of peril are all present in the nine and half minute gameplay walkthrough. Take a look at their new gameplay below!

Dying Light is available on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2014.

As much as I loved Mirror’s Edge, I have no interest in playing it with a zombie mod, which is exactly what this game looks like. The parkour mechanics and even some of the animations are exactly the same. I do realize that DL is on a different engine and by a different company but still, it’s uncanny how similar the two games look. I guess part of my dissatisfaction is from wanting ME2 and the fact that there are a million other zombie games out there and I’m tired of the undead.
