The Quest Gaming Network has been your home for the best in news, opinion, and entertainment for over two years now, and it recently occurred to me, we’ve developed something really unique.
Many of you interact with the QGN staff over Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, in our live stream chats, and even as guests on our shows. Many (ok most) of us were fans of QGN before joining the network in our various capacities, so in a way, we still very much feel like fans of the network first. Sure, we have to put on our best public faces every day and represent the network well, but really, we’re just a group of friends playing and talking about video games together. And we’re honored to have you here with us.
So why am I ruminating about this today? Why am I going on like a sentimental fool, when the appropriate time would have been around our two year anniversary? Frankly, and to be perfectly honest, I could think of nothing else to write about. Call it a busy weekend, taking an early holiday, or just half-assing it. But whatever you call it, the point is still worth being made.
As the year begins to wind down, this may very well be the last time I’ll write to you in editorial form this year, so I wanted to say thank you in the best way I know how: through music. You may or may not know I have an obsession with a little band named Dream Theater. I won’t bore you with the details of how absolutely amazing and epic they are, but suffice it to say, they are absolutely amazing and epic! So I share with you, oh faithful QGN fans, followers, and friends, the music of Dream Theater. The holidays can be rough for people, and I believe music can solve many problems.
So may 2014 bring you happiness, prosperity, and plenty of time for gaming. If you’re going through a rough time or are simply unhappy with your place in life, hang in there. “I don’t believe that we’re in this alone, I believe we’re along for the ride.”
I can’t wait to talk with all of you in the new year.
And one more quick one, a Christmas carol, Dream Theater-style. \m/
